Growing within college communities
Slick was a college-focused social app. In a small growth team, I worked on reaching students through college communities, social pages and direct outreach.
We connected with students and selected campus ambassadors who helped bring their peers onto the app. Goodies were part of how we rewarded their contribution to onboarding more students.
From college research to student onboarding
- Research colleges and student activityI researched college-related Instagram activity and student interests to help decide which campuses to focus on and what content would be relevant to them.
- Connect with students and campus ambassadorsI helped reach out to students, select campus ambassadors and coordinate campus activity. Ambassadors encouraged their peers to join Slick, with goodies used to reward their onboarding efforts.
- Plan content for each college audienceI helped choose colleges for video creation, brainstormed video formats and managed college-focused social pages and posts to support the outreach.
- Keep students informed and engagedI managed social content and product communication around rollouts and community activity, alongside the team’s acquisition and re-engagement work.
The ambassador work is described from my experience. Original outreach records and onboarding figures are no longer available.
